I´m putting down the copy of my mail to Paul here in order to give the space for an open discussion. Any new idea is very welcome! Dear Paul! Thank you for a new tag in the Slovak part of the dict.cc dictionary: [dok./nedok.], this is what´s expressing the point exactly! However I would appreciate very much some more amendments in the Slovak tag frame: - in the styles and hue tags group (starting with [ľud.] ) - adding [kniž.], meaning "knižný výraz" and corresponding to the German "gehoben" or English "formal" (Slovak linguistic terminology operates with the term "knižný") http://slovniky.korpus.sk/?w=knižný&c=6b26 lingv. k-é slovo typické pre pís. jazykové prejavy náročnejšieho štýlu; - in the same tags group - changing [fig.] (meaning "figuratívny") to [obr.] meaning "obrazný": again, this is the term that Slovak ling. terminology works with, and "figuratívny" is not really used in the Slovak linguistics, this word in Slovak is being applied in the field of fine arts: http://slovniky.korpus.sk/?w=figuratívny&c=W398; - within the same group of tags - removing [hist.]: this is really useless here because if a word belongs to history, it can be either marked with "zast." (obsolete) or specified by the Subject "History"; - instead, within this very group I would appreciate including although a relatively small but a very specific group of words, poetic words: [poet.] meaning "poetický výraz"; - finally, in the group of cases of pronouns - removing "niekt.", since it is useless here, too: it is a nominativ of male gender only, for completion one would need to add also female and neutrum genders, not to mention the plural and all together in all cases. |

I already changed all the [dok.]+ [niedok.] to [dok./niedok.] and made a comment on all those that are still pending (mostly your entries). Please have a look at my comments (Heflamoke -> listings -> comments) and change the entries accordingly. Can't comment on the other changes, since you are the expert. |

Hi Renata, thanks for the proposals. Personally I'm fine with all of the proposals and think we should accept them all; especially since the distinction between [hist.] and [zast.] is very blurred and niekt. was supposed to be a generic tag (e.g. it is used for all genders in the printed SAV dictionaries), but which we clearly managed to avoid by using the specific case tags we have. |

I´m bringing in my consideration which I sent in a hurry to admin. directly. We are looking for any new idea and/or comment especially on the "historism" tag! Hallo again, I´m sorry for a little confusion but I was advised in a consultation that historisms, i.e. historic terms have their accurate place in linguistics, and therefore should remain. They name the things which do not exist anymore. Although I´ve thought this could be managed by "Subject History" as it is being done in DE-EN part of the dict.cc distionary, now I´d still ask for letting the [hist.] tag here. Maybe we should wait a couple of days if any new reaction appears. Thank you for your effort. |

- [kniž.] added - [fig.] changed to [obr.] (and terms in DE-SK and EN-SK changed accordingly) - [hist.] - no change yet, not sure if necessary - [poet.] added - niekt. removed I'm not sure if I picked the most logical order of the tags. If you want me to change it, just tell me. Thanks for the proposal and your work! |

I also changed the DE/SK entries now. There's been just 2 I couldn't edit, because of the VP5 + 3rd reopen restriction. |

Thank you, Heflamoke, for all involvement and assistance. I´m afraid, there is a lot more of dok./nedok. entries in both Slovak dictionaries that have been verified until now and need to be reopened. But I think we will manage it step by step. |
